TVG Experts?

From the LA Times:

Results from TVG "Experts" selections on Sunday Jan 5:

Gabby Gaudet: -$11.40 (includes hitting a p5 for $63.60)

Nick Hines: -$14

Scott Hazelton: -$18

Christina Blacker: -$31.50

Joaquin Jaime: -$32

Ron Ellis: -$36

Rich Perloff: -$48

Caton Bredar: -$49.70(includes hitting a p4 for $30.40)

Todd Schrupp: -$52.40

Matt Dinerman: -$67.80 (did have 5 of 6 and 3 of 4 in p6 and p4)

Scott McKeever: -$149

Megan Devine: -$235

Total "talent" suggested bets: -$744.80, which includes ZERO for 16 suggested wagers at their "home" track Santa Anita

You would think to grow interest in the sport someone would think to find more competence...The concept of creating churn seems to be way over the heads of those running TVG. No wonder bookmakers never turn down a bet from a horseplayer.

Most of those experts do nothing but push their tickets. Perloff and Blacker are at least not half bad. I met Rich at Bel several yrs ago. He's a down to earth guy and what you see on TV is pretty much how he is in person. His solo show on Mon and Tues is about the only one I ever watch. Nick Hines[The Sarge] isn't too bad either. Schrupp is a big time clown. I felt sorry for Simon Bray, who as a former trainer shared good insight, had to work with him.

Rather than ability or demonstrated performance its all about looks, showmanship, hype and getting the naïve to bet crazy combinations of ticket. Nothing more than shills for the house. (TVG) I believe Gabby is the most knowledge of the group.

I live in Canada and they have the feed for TVG at my local racetrack. Their tickets (depending on who it is) are basically the favourites or mid price horses of who the public is playing. Your are right about that statement Lt about them pushing their tickets. The ones I believe that are the best on TVG would be Gabby Gaudet. She is smart and can handicap well! I absolutely have Todd Schrupp and Megan Divine, Todd for being annoying and Megan for being not that knowledgeable. I think Rmath should be the next one to be a TVG handicapper

Agreed with both. Maybe even see if Mr. Brohamer could contribute as well.
