One bugaboo that I notice with the older manual entry programs (perhaps there is a work around or I have missed something?) is that for entering 3-year best times, the only surface options are "Dirt" and "Turf"...

Obviously, the Aqueduct Inner Dirt Track is nothing but memories now, but what if a user wanted to enter the 3YB times for the outer and inner turfs at all 3 NYRA tracks? I believe that once Colonial reopens, they have a similar outer/inner configuration.

Just saying. Outer and inner tracks are not created equal.

Jeebs; your correct about the variety of turf races run at some track. Not sure but I believe they do an Inner & regular turf best times. But I could be wrong as I haven.t looked at 3 yr best times in a couple years.

I sent an e-mail to DRF and they replied that their new 3 Yr. best times are done at the end of Jan. and should be out soon after.

Jeebs, right you are. I personally stay away from NY because of all the screwy tracks.

I emailed DRF to ask them when they were going to update the 3 Year Best chart (hard to find the link with their latest home page). Their answer was they were not going to provide a link to the 3 Year Best chart anymore, but they sent me the latest (2018) 3 Year Bests in a spreadsheet, "as a courtesy."

I'll Try to attach the file here...

Thanks Swifty for this resource! At the very least, even if one does not USE that timing info in handicapping, it's a document of all tracks, surfaces and distances running since 2016 (and RIP some surfaces, like AQU Inner).

Thanks!

Ted

Yes, thank you for the chart.

If I can make a suggestion, the first thin I will now do is "verify" the records for the tracks I will paly.

Example -- Aqu, the 3yo best for 6 and 7 furlongs seems to be good, using the rule of thumb for comparing distances of 6.2 0r 6.3 or whatever you use. It is 12.8 or 6.4 per furlong. But 6.5 appears to be too slow at 116.4. That is 7.2 to go from 6 to 6.6 and only 5.6 to got on to 7.

So am using 115.6 for 6.5 instead of the real one. This will help me down the road by avoiding a SR that is out of line and may affect a bet.

This year it should b easy with the data already in a spreadsheet.

Just an idea for this who use these a lot.
