I wish I could make it but cannot. Sounds like you all will have a great time. Best of luck.

Pace and Cap Roll Call!
All,
Count me in, I plan to be with the Pace and Cap Group on Sunday August 23rd. It'll be a pleasure listening to and sharing handicapping knowledge with the group! I have the following materials that I'm willing to share with others on an extended basis with the understanding that they will be returned: From the Sartin Handicapping Seminar- Las Vegas -Spring-1991, the brochure explaining some basic Sartin principles in using K-Gen, Synergism and Docs analysis of early contenders. Secondly,a 101 page brochure " An Introduction to The Sartin Methodology-The Dynamics of Incremental Velocity and Energy Exertion" Another race program that Doc Sartin favorably commented on-the software program Ray Talbot's Pace Calculator. I'll have these available in Saratoga if anyone is interested! Maxspa |

pace and Cap Day/Days
Will be my first trip to Saratoga, pencil me in for Friday, Saturday, and Sunday. Now for a hotel reservation. Am I correct in assuming that hotels/motels in the Albany area are a manageable distance from the track?

Albany is a good choice. No more than a 30 minute drive to the Spa, and you can find a room at a reasonable rate.

If you get off I-87 at Exit 14 and follow the signs for the free (always my favorite) NYRA parking (putting you near the Oklahoma training track), then just follow the crowds to an entrance. You'll be near enough to the Festival Tent. |

Albany, particularly the Wolf Rd. section, is the upscale motel district. All of it gets pricey in August. Don't rule out some of the surrounding communities. For example, Troy is less popular but has very quick assess to I-87 (via NY7), the pathway to the Spa.
