PL4 for one more race - Pace and Cap

After posting my "Funny" thread this morning
I got to thinking about when Rich and I met
Rich set me up with Mary Sartin and had me order the program PL4
hand entry It was the very first Sartin program I ever used

I used it for a while but then I ordered PL4t for the trackmaster download

anyway that post got we wondering what it would be like to do a race again
today with PL4t

I have an old copy Thanks to Shoeless I am able to get some of the old
programs to work with Total commander and typing in everload
anyway I tried to use PL4t It opens up and I see this screen

Ok so I push 1 and I entered the track and date like the screen said

Yes it is I put it into my trackmaster folder
I used it for todays race the file is fine
I made a copy of the file and put it into
the PL4 folder on my c drive and tried again
same screen
again

This time I entered the date like it comes from
Trackmaster
FG0210r.
samething NG

Can anyone help me get this program to work

Also I have the PL4 hand entry version PL4V

but that one just freezes up after all I see is a white box

Bill, I have PL3 which is the BRIS version - I like you,will use it on rare occasions.
I have to save and each individual race file (each race seperately) from AOdds
program where I pick my pacelines or let AOdds pick them automatically..
AOdds has the ability to create an API file for the individual race and save it in the PL3 dirctory as an API file.
If you don't have PL3 let me know.

I also have PL4 but it never worked correctly.
Honestly, I don't think it's worth the effort.
The BRIS version works fine.

Thanks for your help - That could be the answer
but the main menu says PL4 for trackmaster download

No big deal if I can't get the download version to work

I was able to get the hand entry version to work
thanks to Shoeless

I will post a race in a few days

Bill,

Hello my friend, Jonathan Steele to the rescue.

For whatever reason(s), you have to place the TM data file(s) directly into the Pace Launcher 4 folder. This is unlike the Validator & Speculator programs that access the files from the Trackmaster (TRKMAST) folder. I went nuts (for while) trying different things before I stumbled upon this combination and finally got the program to load the race card. What's the reason? I don't know! All I know is that this is what you have to do.

Right now everything is in a folder named HRACE
Do I need to make another folder named Pace launcher 4
and put just the PL4T program and the trackmaster file into that folder?
