Preakness Thread (Early and Late)

I know it is early but here is a thread for posting picks, chatting about the race itself and any other things people may want to talk about.

This thread is for the Preakness and also the undercard races as well on Friday (Black Eyed Susan) and Saturday for the main day event.

Good luck to all the horses racing in the 2019 Preakness Stakes!

Ok so not sure if anyone is posting here for the next couple of days, but I should have my picks done later tonight for Black Eye Susan and the Preakness. I will post my selections+ analysis tomorrow AM/PM.

Baffert Owns Pimlico

I don't really have a feel for this race, as I am still kind of bummed out about the way the Derby finished, and the fact that I had $50.00 to win on Max, and had wheeled him up and down in the exacta for $1. (Bad Beat)

The GOAT Baffert will win IMO.
Happy Punting!

Good luck to you sir Mr Pagine!

Here is how I see it with analysis, Pace and wagering!

1- WAR OF WILL- Do not see anything with this horse, rail again. Throw out
2- BOURBON WAR- Tops in my final fraction. Is 1/2 Picks I have for 1st. Threat.
3- WARRIORS CHARGE- Facing graded company for first time. Can be in early.
4- IMPROBABLE- WIR play but does show slow final fractions with my numbers.
5- OWENDALE- Loved his closing speed in the Lexington. Has his game here?
6- MARKET KING- My friend says he is “ dog sh*t” and I believe him.
7- ALWAYSMINING- My 2nd horse for 1st. Is also a T/M Play and SRE play.
8- SIGNALMAN- Decent move in BlueGrass but is a throw out for me.
9- BODEXPRESS- Maiden still in his 6 career starts. Throwout.
10- EVERFAST- Does not go anywhere in his races. Throwout.
11- LAUGHING FOX- T/M play and does look to contend here today.
12- ANOTHERTWISTAFATE- Good final fractions and looks to be a contender.
13- WIN WIN WIN- No really winning. Expected to run fast late so be watching.

My final fractions for my horses
THROWOUTS: 1,6,8,9,10

Not a good Preakness for me. My toss out horse won (#1) but actually realized that I missed a step in my handicapping and forgot to do the plays step for Calibration Handicapping. #1 would have qualified for 2 Plays and I do look at horses who have 2+ plays. Also I looked at the #10 (2nd) and he also had 2 plays to his name. Oh well on missing the Exacta.

Belmont is in 2 weeks!

That was not fun.

My thoughts came true, as I didn't really have a feel for the Preakness yesterday.
War of Will had the best time of 1.54.34 since Curlin in 2007 1.53.46.

Happy for Casse as he owns the winning trainer % at my home track of Woodbine, and I actually had a coffee with him one day as I was looking to buy a share in a horse he was training 6 years ago.

See you on June 8th, 2019 at The Belmont!!

That’s cool that your local track is Woodbine as well! I live about 1 hour from their.
