I do something slightly different. My program generates a file for the top 4 finishers in each race, indicating the lengths behind at the first two calls. (Obviously, I could also easily add positions to these.) This gives me a good look at how the track is playing, as I can see how far back the winners are coming from (as well as how gapped the races are). Of course, playing as many tracks as I do, I rarely look at these files.

Hi John
I think you would benefit from adding the positions. Possibly big time man.

It gives you more of a "visual" and with you "watching" lots of replays etc seems like a perfect fit with how you find your bets.

Strong O.T.E. positional bias for winners continued virtually unabated both weekend cards after the original post.

This track saved my bacon yesterday as my play at others sucked.

First 4 cards of this meet early dominated and I mean dominated. Then a virtual 180 degree shift the other way for a now extended period of time.

Safe day

There were two very generous loose lead winners this weekend at HOL: Victorian Prince, Friday night, and Kizzy's Chaos, yesterday. KC, in particular, was absolutely loose in his race. They each payed > 5:1.

Which got me to wondering if it might not be a good idea to write a program that looks over the entries for a particular day and zones in on those races where a speed horse or closer has and advantage. This wouldn't even require the PP's, just a database with the horses and their running styles. I'm sure someone is doing this already.
