Ideas for Phoenix area?

My mom retired to Phoenix and my sister and I will be visiting there in October and my sister suggested we go to the races. My dad was an avid race fan and he is the one that introduced me to racing and the Sartin methodology. I don't think there are any local tracks running in Phoenix in October so I was wondering if anyone knew of a racebook there that we could watch the simulcasts and bet at?

I currently live in Reno, Nevada and while Nevada is a pretty free state for a lot of things, it's government is completely owned and controlled by the casinos, so they do not allow us to legally bet thru ADWs like Twinspires or TVG. I can bet thru a RaceApp from my local casino on my smart phone, but it checks every time to make sure I am in Nevada before taking my bet. So even though I have RTN and we could watch that on my mom's Roku, we would not be able to bet, unless my mom signed up for an ADW for just that one day, which seems kind of silly.

In Tulsa where we grew up, there is an OTB at 21st and Yale that is awesome. In fact, that is where my Dad and Jimmy, "the Hat", met and became friends. It has big screens and cashiers to take your bets, a bar and a restaurant. It is a great place to watch the races and make bets. If anyone knows of something like this, either standalone or in one of the casinos in the Phoenix area, please let me know.

Thanks,

Dan

Found this on the Turf Paradise website:

On & Off Track Betting
Turf Paradise is open year-round, seven-days a week from 9:00 a. m. to 7:00 p.m. for simulcasting.

Full cards of all the major tracks are featured, such as Santa Anita, Belmont Park, Churchill Downs, Gulfstream Park and the two jewels of the summer season, Del Mar and Saratoga. Over 60 tracks are offered throughout the year with up to 28 race tracks a day presented. All pools are commingled.

Thank you

I found the Gila Casino which is supposed to be an MGM race book, but they do not simulcast, this is perfect though!!!

It is only 30 minutes from my mom's house. It should be great. Did not even think to look at a racetrack, but makes sense, they have the screens indoors and the tellers, so why wouldn't they simulcast?

Thank you,

Dan

Hey Tim,

I am going to be there from the 13th to the 18th of October. My sister is going to be there the 15th, so that day is no good. Do you play Remington? What tracks do you like? What days do you normally go?

No Remington....NYRA, Woodbine, Mahoning Downs, Thistledown, Belterra, Hastings, Presque isle, LOVE Oaklawn

Most of the smaller tracks do not have the field size to generate enough money in the exotic pools i.e. Caterbury is a good place but the prices are too low. usually have to have 7 or 8 entrants to make it worthwhile.

I stay away from Anita, Gulfstream, Parx (most often unless it is the dead of winter and then it is great), Fair Grounds, Keeneland & I rarely play Del Mar or the California Fairs.

I'll send the home phone number is a private message
