Day 4 and Overall results

Well, almost out of nowhere, Mattshan made a winning $25 exacta bet that paid $28.50 for each $1 bet and crushed the field to show a 133.2% ROI.

Congratulations Blake for your win.

Coming in second is The Pook with a respectable 35.2% ROI.

Capcondo would have been second, but did not bet the minimum $200 over the four days of the contest. Tim, I found one of today's bets in the day 3 thread, but it was only enough to qualify you on the basis of 14 races played.

I guess what I would take from this contest is that its best to be selective in the number of races played. Its a very hard endeavour to be good at.

Ted will follow up with prizes and instructions on how to do it.

Thanks for putting up with me over these four days.

Good handicapping over the rest of the year.

Bill

Thank you Bill!

I am just seeing this now for the first time as I have been with family the last few hours. I just want to say how much I appreciate this community and Ted for keeping it going for all of us. It is such a warm and helpful group and so welcoming to newbies like me. Thank you.
Also, Bill thank you for all of your efforts on behalf of all of us. I would be writing this note win, lose or draw today as you guys are a special group of humans.
Thanks again,
Blake

Bill,
It appears an oversight that you missed adding my winnings for today of $257.60, it's a big change in my final numbers. If need be, I can give you the P3 and DD I hit. I appreciate you checking it out.

Congratulations Blake (mattshan) and Mike (Pook) - very well done in a tough set of days with all the caveats on how and what to bet!

I will wait just a little while for any dust to settle including any errors to correct - and to hear back from the winners. Tomorrow morning I will post a schedule of who should send their $50 Entry Fee to whom, via PayPal.

Blake - you also get to choose first from the 2 RDSS-related prizes: 1 month free Unlimited data, or 6-months free Subscription. Pook gets the remaining prize.

A BIG shout-out to Bill Lyster our intrepid Contest Manager for his tireless and detailed hour-by-hour attentiveness to all our postings each day for the past 2 weekends. Bill you went above and beyond the call of duty and we are in your debt!

Thanks to all the players for making this an exciting Contest. Feel free to post any learnings or other wisdom gleaned from this year's adventure, along with any suggestions for improvement next year.

Ted

Congrats goes out to the winners Mattshan and Pook you guys did great!

Special thanks to Bill Lyster for his efforts on scoring and to our dear friend Bill V who was the idea behind this contest and we will never forget his famous words “May the 4 horse be with you” and Bill you were with us here all through the contest and always in our hearts!!

I was very fortunate to get a few good hits early on in the day today along with yesterday along with some near misses in the end but I did have fun and that is what matters most!

Thanks again everyone cannot wait to play next year!

Yes - let's wait for any potential errors to be corrected before the full final celebrations! Final standings might be changed

Thank you Bill for scorekeeping. You had a tough job and handled it with great skill. I was disappointed in my placing but happy to show a profit. Thanks to everyone for playing.

Congratulations Mattshan on your win! Congratulations Mitch on coming second. I showed a respectable profit but Mitch beat me for 2nd.

Thanks Bill for tracking the numbers this year. Not an easy task.
