Saratoga 2022

With Ted in "exile" 3000+ miles away from SAR, I am posting this query to see if there would be any interest in re-incarnating a meet-up of the group during the 2022 SAR season. In the past, the weekend the Alabama race is run has been the target date. Any ideas are welcome.

While it doesn't feel like I'm in 'exile' here on the northwest coast , it is a long way from Saratoga and I probably won't be able to attend this year though hopefully several further years to come.

Hopefully the full compliment of activities can resume this year after the pandemic hiatus. Charlie B (gandalf380) has some connections to reserve tables like we have done recently. If there's interest in meeting on a Friday evening at the NHPLAY offices, I can help facilitate it.

I nominate Mick as official photographer (he knows why ).

Good luck everyone!

Ted

Warning....

No idea if this will apply to Saratoga as well, but it looks like Belmont is not allowing laptops unless you are a contest participant!

Unbelievable as it sounds, it would be a good idea to double check before committing $$$ to a visit.

I found it talked about here:

I am going for sure this summer. Paceandcap member (HoldAllTickets) and I are going for the Fourstar Dave Aug 13. Grade 1 Turf Race. We will be there on Friday the 12th as well. Hope to see and meet some of you professionals.

Respectfully,

While I will not be coming this year, I talked to Charlie B (gandalf380) and he will only be there on Labour Day closing weekend (Sept 3-5), so unable to organize getting tables in 4 Star Dave restaurant where the group has met before.

If someone wants to step up and organize a date and pre-purchase some seating at tables, I can commit some funding to defray ticket costs for everyone (from recent Contest Prize donation by Blake/mattshan). But I can't organize it this year.

Hi All,

I am checking in with the group to see how many are genuinely interested in gathering at Saratoga this year and if so are there specific dates that group members are open to? It would be great if we could increase communication here in order to potentially make a plan and then make table arrangements etc. If not then I hope to meet some of you somewhere in the future.
Have a great Belmont day!!
