The Amsterdam r9 SAR 7/31/22

The Amsterdam r9 SAR 7/31/22, post time 5:34 PM EDT:

Pace lines:

1: 3 back Jan 29

2: 1 back Jul 3

3: 1 back Jul 3

4: 1 back Jun 11

5: 1 back Jun 26

6: 2 back May 15

7: 1 back Nov 5

8: 1 back Jul 3

9: 1 back Jun 3

Handicapping:

1: trainer is hot (6/18 last 30 days), has top jock in Prat, been working out well since last race

2: excellent breeding (by Gun Runner), decent workout since last race

3: shows best 1/4 mile speed

4: good breeding (by Gun Runner), good recent works, switches to Rosario

5: from Chad Brown barn, been working well, top speed fig in last race

6: good breeding (by Gun Runner)

7: good breeding (by Quality Road), excellent recent works, switches to Saez

8: good breeding (by Into Mischief)

9: switches to Jose Ortiz

Win contenders:

As/Bs/Cs

where As = main win contenders, Bs = backup with contenders, Cs = possible win contenders:

5-7-1/2-4/8-6

Pace match-up: 1,2,7 battle for early lead, pressed by 4 and 5, with 8 showing best closing kick

1 wins if can get the early lead and hold on, 5 wins if Irad can navigate just off the early pace, 2 wins if doesn't get caught up in early speed duel and has enough to pass horses (the 1 and maybe the 7) in stretch, 4 can win if Rosario works his magic, 8 will need an early pace melt-down to close, 7 has been away 268 days but is the ML favorite

Suggested betting strategy:

Win bets 4,8

Exacta 2/1,4,5

Exacta 1/2,4,5,6,8

Exacta 7/1,2

Exacta 5/1,2,3,4,8

Avoiding the 5-7 chalk combos

Good luck

Richard

Richard, you picked a real tuff one due to so many mixed distances. Several unknown factors in this one. Not a race to bet the house but only a fun bet and watch. A case for too many in here so EX would be tough. A small DD w/ the 8th may get a price.

My best WAG is 4-6-1.

Good luck,
Mitch44
