Hi Rich-

This one looks very tough to me...

The early scenario:
#10 looks to be a NTL and looking at line 2 I see a win vs 24.4 48.4 113.4

I considered 1,2,6, and 9 earlies as well with the ability to win OTE or at least without needing the early lead.

I do not see #10 maintaining its comfort zone, so he's out.

#6 and #9 look to be the fastest horses in the early group that also project to get their desired position. I give a slight edge to #9.

Of the OTE's I give the edge to #7, who comes of a fast sprint and shows a decent finish vs a fast pace routing in line 9. Still, I lean to #9 to take this race.

Good luck, and thanks for the race. Have a good weekend!

Evangeline's 7th

I like this race. Here's the list:

#1: Fighter on two different occasions. Can win without lead. 4th line back is my pace line. E/P

#2: Sustained race at Houston has horrible internal fractions. Only decent line. OUT

#3: No way.
#4: Scratched.
#5: No way.
#6: Contender. Two best finishes are presser.
#7: OUT
#8: Deep closer; OUT.
#9: Fighter. Contender. S 6th line back.
#10: No fighter. Out.
#11: Slow

Leaves me with 1, 6, and 9. At a mile, I like the 1 who has run against faster paces.

Thanks Bill L!

Thanks to you too, Rich! These practice races really help because they make me go through an entire race step by step as opposed to just looking quickly for spot plays as I do on my own. Going through the whole process like this can lead to new lessons I can apply to future races. Lessons I would've missed otherwise.

As always, I'll keep working and learning, but it's fun to have one turn out like that! Any positive result is an advertisement for the work you've done in the Hat Check section as well as directly to Jim Bradshaw!

On to the next one...

Nice work Pete

Great call. As I was watching the race and saw the 7 start to move, I thought there goes Pete C.'s horse. 7 almost go there.

Keep it up.
