Race 8

1 - E recently but pressed on turf off 46.6-110.6; other than that rarely passes any other horse
2 - E and never passed anyone; but has run early fractions faster than 1
3 - P made one deep close and one mid close for win and place; closed from 7th to 4th in last;
4 - P only race off decent pace; ran 5-5-3 while losing ground to stretch call and then gaining to the wire
5 - E lost first race to the 4 then won in much improved fashion while pushing early pace in best fractions from this field;
6 - E/P lead or tried to lead, but backed up in last against weak fractions
7 - E won a 7f and a mile race in wire to wire fashion; last race at Delta had faster fractions than the mile win.

Pace: 23 - 47 - 112+ using the first fraction of the 7. The 1 can't run this fast early and probably pushes the 7 too fast as well. The 2 at this pace may be competitive, but now there are three on the lead; the 5 was a half off 22.3 and a head off 45.9 - broke 4th in last and will be happy that opening call is around 23. should be a factor in insuring half mile in 47 or better. The 6 is e/P at best against slower fractions than projected today.. I think all the earlies cancel with the 5 being able to travel the fastest of the early horses.

I am left with the 4 and the 3 and need a horse from about 4th or 5th to make a move.

3: 23.8-47.7-112.7-125.3
pos. 7th-5.0;7th-3.75;4th-3.6;4th-5.0

4: 22.4-46.2-106-112.4
pos. 4th-2.5; 5th-2.6; 5th-5.7; 3th-4.0

the closest to the lead and also the fastest time is the 4. The 3 should close well and if the 1 presses instead of contesting the lead it may be a factor (but has never closed on dirt).

To win: 4 and 3
To place: 5 and 3

Lets win this one!

Race 9

the 9 and two seem to tower over most of the field here off two tandems; the 9 has beaten the 2 2x. I see the 5 pressing but not good enough to win;

to win: 9 and 2
to place 2 and 5

good luck tomorrow night.

Bill

Best choices 9 & 2.
The 9 is a strong candidate , placed 3x's @stakes level. First time router but has been moving up the sprint chain and ran strong last @ 7F.
I think he can handle the distance. Probably will go off as the post time favorite at low odds at which case I would use the 9 as the key horse in a tri or super.

The #2 is also competetive at the stakes level and although finished 4th in its last race still made a nice move picking up 2 positions from the 2C to to the wire.

HOU Race 8

My picks are the 1 and 6 which I believe will be bet down and not worth a play.
Both these horses are in form and recently finished ITM at the stakes level.
