Nice pick in race 3 Bill, $ 23.60 to win.

In watching the first 3 races at Pimlico it appears there is a speed bias.

Because of what I see with the track I am going to box in the Preakness 7 9 8 4 and look at making a few keys that include the 3 & 6 not on top.

Hi Steve, I see the Preakness as follows:
7,8,3
It's all about position.
If Borel happens to get to the rail, he needs a hole
to get through.
The race should favor a late or sustained horse.

Bill,
I can dig it, cutting our teeth on this one, conventional Sartin versus new age Sartin. Lets all jump in!

Position is more important in the derby I think, here I think the Hat boy's will be talking after the race about the matchup. I think the shape of this race will have a impact. I have to key 7 & 8 in the win position with others I mentioned prior for second and third. My value bomb to come into the tri is number 9.

Hi Steve
only one talking is the Hat. He LOVED Curlin.

We did the race this morning and he told me Curlin was the horse that was gonna win the race. He did not like my horse at all to be honest.

he said Hard Spun had no chance with the 2 and 6 in the race today. Then he told me to check BOTH the 2 and 6 and see who had destroyed them in previous races. I saw it was his horse CURLIN. He said " thats why he will win the race. He will be ahead of your horse and Street Sense.

Him and my Mom went partners on exactas with Curlin and Street Sense( my Mom's horse) and they did rather well. He told me "Rich your Mom picks em pretty good too!"

anyway thats what went down in Matchup land amigo.
take care
Richie

Richie,
I did not rule Curlin out, I just did not rule him on top in the keys. Everything is easy to say after the race is run so I will just say I thought the track itself was holding for speed, I was wrong. Also thought Hard Spun looked like s*** on his way to the gate. I also thought both jocs did masterfull rides in the one and two spot. I have been following race shapes very close of late and expect I have more to learn for sure. I am equally glad you and yours did well and had a good time with the big race.
