Saturday at Tampa

I thought this race was pretty interesting at Tampa today. Lots of horses from different tracks, a router cutting back to seven furlongs and many horses that like to run early.

#1 Early fighter. Last race power line from Haw: 21.1 44 2-hd 1-hd 1-1.5 1-no

#2 Also early, can go 22 or 22.1 at Crc. I'm not too familiar with that track but I think I've heard it is slow, so I think those fractions stack up well against #1.

#3 Early who needs a clear lead. Has been on the lead in 21.2 at Crc and 21.3 at Tam!

#5 Router that likes to sit first or second. Has not faced these faster early fractions before.

#6 Another early who has gone 22.1 at Pha.

#7 Likes to sit first or second and has been there vs a 22.1.

#8 Another early who needs a clear lead.

#9 Another early. he's only won after a clear 2c lead.

That leaves the #4 who has won twice from 4th at 1c and closed from 8th to be a close third. One of those wins was against a 22 1st call at CRC. Not exactly sure how the other tracks compare, but he's done well vs a 22 at other places. Today's pace may be faster than that at 1c but style wise he seems to be a really good fit and he seems reasonably fast.

Any other takes on the race?

Tampa race 8

Hello Pete C.

I have the experience of a high percentage of winners in 7 fur races coming from 1 of the top 2 ability ratings. You scoped out the race pretty good.
I would seriously consider #5 in my final contenders. Of course, i would
require odds higher than 2-1 after a long lay off

IMHO

Cool Tampa Sat

Thanks PeteC, but at that price it's a pass

Just for grins, check out these 7 fur races for Sunday to see if ability times
is a factor;

CT races 7 and 9
Pha race 4
Ril race 3
Tam races 3,6,8,11
check the top 2 Ability Times

good luck, Bob C

Hi Bob..

Question..it might be stupid but is ability time the same as total energy?

So u have determined that at 7 fur distances at any track , the top ability/total energy is your betting factor?

thx

mike

Cool mikesal57

WoW ! is that what i said LOL

no mikesal, i said one of the top 2 ability times win a high % of 7 fur races.
i don't use it on maiden races unless all of the horses have pacelines.

Ability Time is turn time plus the second call time.

hope this clears up my statement.

Just wondering

if anyone ran the last race at tampa sat Feb 20 where the horse paid 17.00 his last race was run at a route and think his early fractions were 44 or 45 in change and 110 and had the lead. Just wondering how the horse came out on RDSS using that line?
