gentlemen
i have windows pro. how does one use or find dos to use any dos programs.
i think this has been addressed, just point me to the posts.

-click accessories---

-and there you will find c:\ command prompt

1) click "start"
2) "all programs"
3) "accessories"
4) then you will see the "command prompt". Thats the dos thing.

ohhh
now if i download spec or val should i save it to desktop or shortcut it to desktop?? and will or has there been any problems running these programs?

Go into the directory where the file Spec.exe or val.exe is RIGHT click on it and your create a shortcut that you can drag to the desktop.

John,

Make a separate folder for these DOS programs (e.g. a folder named Validator, or a folder named Spec160 for that version of Spec). Copy the ZIP file containing the software to the appropriate folder then extract from the ZIP to the folder. (Here's a post on extracting files from a ZIP: http://bindfold.com/forums/showpost.php?p=5479&postcount=5).

To create a Desktop shortcut, find the program file (e.g. Val3c.exe or SPEC160.exe, right-click it, select Send To, then Desktop - and a shortcut to the program will appear on your Desktop.
