'Heartbleed' Security Bug - TrackMaster NOT affected

Some of you may have read about a wide-spread internet security bug dubbed 'Heartbleed'. It relates to a bug recently discovered in the security layer software of websites which require a secure login (i.e. the site URL begins: HTTPS ...)

I asked TrackMaster specifically about this and they responded quite promptly that they are NOT affected by this bug. There is no reason to be concerned that your TrackMaster password has been compromised (either when you login directly, or when RDSS uses it to download data).

Note that PaceandCap.com website does not use a secure login scheme (SSL, or HTTPS) and so is also unaffected by this issue.

You may wish to determine if your various online banking or other sites are affected and after they say they've updated their security software, then change your passwords. I hear that IRS is unaffected, but in Canada the CRA (Tax Dept) has shut its websites temporarily. The Canadian Banking system says it is unaffected.

That said, it is always good practice to change your various login Passwords from time to time (even though it is a pain, and many of us don't do it often enough, or at all ...).
