Monkey hits big DD($461.20)

After being away for a while I warmed up the Monkey yesterday at GP. The card figured to have several longshots with races full of unknowns. The Monkey landed on # 2 in the 9th as a 3rd choice. Did shoot for the Tri. while blowing a big EX., the DD was hit which is a Monkey favorite. Ended up + $49.90 for the day which beats losing. Went nuts on the last few races while having fun.

# 2 was coming off a 126 day layoff with sharp workouts and a capable trainer. Also had performed well off a layoff prior. Had placed & showed in Gr2's prior. Had only one race at 7F with a SR of only 1 point below best. The odds compensated the risk.

Good on you, Mitch!

I remember that horse well. Cost me some Pick 3s, a Pick 4 and a DD.
You saw him and I didn't. Not the first time and it won't be the last.

I told LT1 it looked like longshot day there. But up to that race they were killing me with half of the EX & DD's. There were longshots but I didn't seem to have a handle on them, and then BAM!!!

I have to admit that after being away my money management was off and was down $200 when I struck that gold . Then raised my bets looking for a big score but made sure I ended with a profit. It was fun and at least the rust was knocked off. However on my part very poor money management, I will adjust.

Must have been all those test you had done last week that tickled your crazy bone. Didn't hit that one but hit the 10th $1ex for 119.70. In the race the 678 were the top3 of both Profit Line and Bris Prime Power ranks. When this happens one of them wins 84% of the time[300race survey]. For icing on the cake they were also the top 3 on all 3 rx ratings with the 6 &7 the top 2 onbl/bl. Rather then engage the dart board I made a $2box with those 3 and played $1exs those 3 over the remaining 8. Also dutched wp on the 3 of them. Well the 6 won $8.60 and the 4 split the 7 at the wire and thus the nice ex. Sometimes it pays to go a liittle crazy. If I remember correctly Doc said it was all right to allow yourself 1 fun day a week[with a set amount to play for the day].

I was having a lot of problems prior to the nice hit. My CP kept freezing up and then going dark blank. Had to restart it to get some bets in and it had an effect on the days races.

With all that I had forgot about the # 2 till I went to check to see where I was at with my betting. Nice surprise. Normally I write them down but didn't have the time because of the computer. Found out it was my virus program. Extended 2 yr.'s and downloaded the new version. With 5 days left on my contract I wonder if those crashes were intentional?

Tim(LT1) excellent tip BTW for those paying attention. I could not see the # 4 in that race (10th ) at all and was typical of the day. You had a huge EX, $239.40. Big congrats!!!

Thanks Mitch only had it for $1 since it was a turf race. As far as the surveys it must be point out that only races for non mdn 3yr old and up on the dirt were included[my primary plays]. FWIW I did conduct a 200 race survey which included mdn, turf and dirt races for 3 & up. The results were 132 wins out of the 200 for a 66% win rate. Not as impressive as when limited to older horses on dirt races but a pretty solid none the less.

For the record it is Richie Mathie who deserves the credit for recording and sharing the power of the top 3 Profit and Prime ranked horses. Mitch had put me onto them first some years back, and we did do some survey stats so we knew it worked. It wasn't until Richie shared his results with me, during one of our numerous phone conversations, that I did the above surveys. Once again the value of this site and the willingness of its' members to share some great insight comes forth. Thanks once again Rich and Mitch.
