Montana Mick hits a few Doubles

It was too cold to ski today. (It was minus 8 when I got up.) So I stayed in, played the races from Gulfstream and Oaklawn and hit two doubles. The bankroll can always use a little padding.

Mick, congratulations!!! Sounds like you had more fun today than I did (and more than many other RDSS users).

Must be the rarefied air in Montana - kept you safe and out of trouble

Enjoy the weather and skiing!

Ted

Nice one Mick! That will pay for a few rounds apres-ski.

Wow

Way to go Mick

Been through Montana many times . real nice views of the state. I did not see much except I-80
Seemed like a nice peaceful place.

Thanks for the reminder of the values of the double. I kind of drifted away from the bet.

I have been infatuated by the new parlay bet at Santa Anita

I have been helping out a buddy who is down on his luck.
He picks horses he thinks have a chance to be in the money.
(usually by the top jockeys and trainers)
I make win - place - or show parlays for us. 3 or 4 races and with just a $5
investment we usually make enough for him to get something to eat
and I get my investment back.

Have a great day
Bill

Bill:
I would rather make my own parley without the tracks interference. If I hit the first half I have the option to make the parlay, cancel the parlay or take a profit but still make a reduced parlay.
What is the take on the new parlay bet at SA verses the DD? Then again the DD may not be an option . I prefer tracks with rolling DD.

Wish you well with it.

Good

Hi Mitch

I am not sure about the take out, The first time me and my buddy
played the new parlay we hit a nice win price like in the second leg of a 4 race bet. I thought we could cash out at that point ,
The bad news is you can't, but actually since I make only a $5 investment on 3 4 and 5 races, This turns out to be a good thing.
Yes when you make your own parlay you can cash out, With the new parlay bet you can't . which makes it more of a fun social bet.
For a very small investment you can have it last the whole card.
On Sunday we played one ticket using races 3, 6 7, 8 we won $20 bucks
from my 5 ticket and the bet lasted us all day.
We usually go to Santa Anita on Santa Anita derby day
We have a big gathering of friends and family in the infield. I will suggest
we make a parlay group play. It will keep everybody involved.
I like the bet cause you can bet anything you like from the win place show pools . Sunday we bet Win Show Win Win

Value wise making your own is better. The new bet locks you in so that is
interesting, I remember one ticket we hit 2 legs early on the card but our last leg was in the last race. All we needed was our low odds horse to show. So we had a nice time waiting for the last race to look forward to.

Nothing better than rooting for a 2/1 horse to show and getting a few bucks
