Why people love sustained type horses

Hi

People love to see horses make big moves. The crowd gets excited. The track calls are memorable.

Yesterday at Parx there were two races with similar connections
The team of J. Servis and Stew Elliott got home two promising young horses
They both went off as the big favorites in race 6 and 8

Race 6 was a Maiden Special
Here is the winner Storm Novel. It is an early horse. It is also a perfect example of
FTL's Why Not Maidens ? lessons. Horse 7 won easily and paid $4.20

Here is the winner of race 8. Joint Return is a Sustained horse.
It won and paid $4.80.

I don't have the call for race 6 but since Stormy Novel and the FTS horse 10 just ran around the track together on the lead the race call was just another early winner. Ho hum ....

I hope this is allowed but here is the call of race 8
Listen to the excitement in track announcer The great Keith Jones call
Actually he gets so excited he calls the Joint Return the wrong name
but anyway listen to the excitement. I tried to get the crowd noise excitement too in the audio. its a little noisy as I recorded this at Del Mar

Count me in, Bill! Nothing I like better than the Zenyatta show!
Probably started from reading the book The Black Stallion when I was a kid.

not exactly

Hi Appy

That is nice. It is not really what I am trying to point out.

In regards to The Sartin Methodology's ESP designations,

Not only do track callers and the public get more excited for sustained horses
There seems to be a rule that a low price Early horse will fade and should be bet against ,

But low odds Sustained favorites are fun to cheer for
In either race 6 or 8 the favorite was the horse yet with very different running styles

Thanks
Bill

With an early horse, your race might be over a few steps out of the gate.
With a closer, it ain't over until it's over.

I grew up loving closers....on speed favoring Finger Lakes.
