Race timing.

Hopefully this will enhance pace handicapping in the future, meanwhile we'll have to suffer through some growing pains such as inaccurate timing at DMR.

Due to timing issues in the past, this particular issue and lack of internal fractions in 7.5 F races on the turf etc., some makers time every race themselves or hire some one for greater accuracy for their numbers. They employ some one for every track to also measure wind, rain etc. For Pace Handicappers and Speed Figures of any kind, an accurate time is a must for accuracy.

Hopefully, Equibase understands that accurate times also
help owners and trainers handicap where and when their horses run next;
whether they use figures or not.
