I like ring around the collar

The old Wisk detergent advertising line about DIRT.

That is what Pro-ride appears to most emulate. GOOD

that WISK commericial is just as BAD as I remember it.

When I was a mover, we had the chance to move the commericial psychological lab of the Stanford Research Institute and one of the fellows there told me that the trick in advertising is to just make a lasting impression...It doesn't have to be a positive one to be remembered.

Doc uses this one

"Tell them what you’re going to tell them; next, tell them; and then tell them what you told them."

If you visit the Pro Ride web stie you find the stuff is the model of simplicity: sand with a binding agent above a good drainage system.

It was the inventor here that salavaged last season's debacle at Santa Anita by patching up the surface to get them throudh the season.

Of all the synthetics, THIS and Tapeta seem the best long term so far.

He was on the radio last weekend talking about his efforts with Pro Ride and saving the SA debacle from last season. He says it's "89% dirt with their cusion mixed in and is suppose to be the most consistent surface out there". Also blames the drainage system more than the surface from last season. Just have to wait and see.

I thought so too, why?? wouldn't they use a similar drainage system as Hollywood Park???

Hard to say. All I know is that they're predicting another wet winter out here and if SA has to close down for 11 days again like last year there will be hell to pay for someone. He wont be able to get back to Australia fast enough.
