Wood Memorial

I havent fully looked at this race tomorrow but I like Vyjack and Normandy Invasion, I just dont think Verrazano is going to take it. Wondering how other folks are leaning. Equibase has it as its free race of the day. So I attatched the pp and sheets. Good luck to all

I ran this race also and came to the same conclusion as you have.
Goodluck to both of us.

Thanks for the race and pps! Patecatl

I had a tough time with this race.....There were some tough distances (8.3F) for me to compare raw times. So I do what I usually do in tough situations..I plugged in the lines....

I narrowed the race down to four contenders:

Normandy Invasion-2nd paceline back adjusted for age development
Mr Palmer-last paceline...I made a note of the trouble trip
Vyjack-2nd paceline back
Verrazano-2nd paceline back

I see this race as two sets of battle: a battle for first between Verrazano and Vyjack; and a battle for 3rd/4th between MrPalmer and Normandy Invasion.

Good skills

Like trained seals

Sometimes they follow the script, and the winning mutual is a little light: the payout was $68.50 for a one dollar superfecta but if you bet it multiple times it adds up. A $1.00 Superfecta structured the way I placed the bet cost $4.00

From my Twin Spires account with the amounts left blank; use your imagination and fill in any amount you want.

COMPLETED: d6f8b-d7885 AQU #11 Superfecta 5,8,WT,2,WT,4,5,6,8,WT,4,5,6,7,8

About as straight forward a race as I've ever seen; counter late (#2) anchored in second, my two choices over and under him and a couple of obvious horses added to the mix in the fourth spot, at least I found them obvious. Made the bet early, and thought the the #2 would be a longer price. But when you bet early you live with your best guess of final odds.

Regards,
chris

Chris, you got a great deal if the ticket shown was a $1 superfecta for $4.

It appears to be on sale at most tracks for about $18, still a nice hit,
congratulations.

Wood Memorial charts

Well, we have our Kentucky Derby favorite in Verrazano, who is undefeated heading into the starting gate at Churchill Downs.

A couple of comments: I really like the gallop out of Normandy Invasion after the finish line. Normandy Invasion had some huge obstacles in this race as the early fractions were pedestrian. A couple of jumps after the wire, this one was striding out very well.

Well, we wait until the speed figures come in to evaluate this race....

Here is the result charts:
