Segments in RDss

Can someone please help me understanding the Segment section. What do the different F calls mean and what is the Incremental Match Up. I have posted this race here at my local track. It was won by #2 with #6 coming second. Thanks in aadvance.

The explanation is on page 22 of the Glossary.

Under "Computed Beaten Lengths," "F1" is determined by the horse's velocity for Fraction 1. "SC" is determined by the horse's velocity to the Second Call, i.e. Fractions 1 and 2. And "Fin" is determined by the horse's average velocity for the entire race, i.e. total distance divided by final time.

The "Incremental Match Up" is different. It's a visual representation of how the horses match up on velocity within each race segment. Think of it as three different races. Unlike Computed Beaten Lengths, it is not cumulative. "F1" is determined by the horse's F1 velocity. "F2" is determined by the horse's "F2" velocity only, not the velocity to the Second Call. And "TS + F3" is determined by averaging the horse's True Speed + F3 velocity.

For the projected winner (based on the selected paceline) and the cumulative beaten lengths, look at the "Fin" column under Computed Beaten Lengths.

Glad it helped. One of the great things about P&C is that Doc Sartin lives on here. We're all friends helping friends.

Hey Mick, speaking of helping, if you are in town April 23, 24 or 25, I'll be in Nashville for a conference and would be happy to buy you lunch or dinner for some RDSS "strategery".
Thanks,
Brian

Brian,

The calendar is clear those days. Just let me know where you'll be and when. Always good to meet another RDSS user.

Mick

Brian,

While in Nashville, a trip to Roberts Western World, a beer joint/honky tonk on Broadway, is obligatory. http://robertswesternworld.com
The Don Kelley Band plays most nights and they are something special. They're playing April 25. I checked for you.
