Thoughts & Prayers

Our thoughts and prayers go out to all those on the US East Coast who have been enduring Hurricane Sandy. Many have been evacuated from their homes or have loved ones in peril and lives disrupted.

Hoping all here are safe.

Ted

I echo that. I have put out an email to all those that I know live in those areas. If and when I hear back (maybe not with power outages) I will post in here.

A prayer

Dear Lord, please show your mercy and compassion toward all those affected by the spread of wildfires, power losses in this prolonged heat wave, damaging storms, and other phenomena. Fill Your people with generosity and kindness, to reach out to others, and be the hands of the lord to those in need. Inspire in local and national leaders with ways to act to assist those affected. And hold the souls of those who perish in these events in your loving hands, Amen!

Just heard from Charles Bedard up in New York, (gandalf380). He and Missy are okay, but they haven't any power and probably won't for a couple of days.

Thanks Barb for keeping us posted. I know that we are all concerned about our RDSS friends.

Ted I echo your thoughts and prayers. I know we have some members here that reside on the East Coast. I hope they are safe and hope their lives get back to normal as soon as possible.

I've just looked at the photos on Ted's link. I honestly didn't know it was as bad as this.

Thoughts with everyone affected by this. People moan about the English weather, but we never have to face anything like N.America gets.

I just heard from Karen and Richie P in Connecticut. They've been without power and still are, as both their and their neighbour's power poles were sheared off, but other than a lot of mess, suffered no major damage. Both went to went back to work today. They had the foresight to buy a generator only a couple of month's ago.
