California Fires

All our thoughts and prayers go out to those hundreds of thousands affected by the Southern California wildfires, both near Los Angeles and in San Diego County.

I read truly terrible news of fire engulfing the San Luis Rey Downs training facility north of Del Mar (and quite near to where Bill Lyster, Bill V and others live). Horses turned loose from their stalls, some perished.

All is well in Escondido - so far

We are about 15 miles south of where yesterdays fire started near Fallbrook. The Santa Ana's predominantly blow east to west so our place is out of harms way currently.

Would not like to have a fire start east of us. that could cause a lot of consternation.

Hope you all are well,

Thoughts and prayers to all of you in that horrible vicinity, and to those of us out of harm's way, the is a GoFundMe account opened for the race folks.
Hopefully, we can give something back to the game we all love.

Thanks Tom, I forgot to reference that.

I made a $100 donation on behalf of members of Paceandcap.

Looks like they raised over $400K for equine and human after care. They're finding horses they turned loose in the neighbourhood. Looks like Richards's Boy (placed in Breeders Cup Juvenile Sprint) and Conquest Typhoon (2YO Canadian Champion), also Calculator were found safe.
