Apologies Ted,

I just assumed that as something had occurred at the same time as he Twin Spires issues that it must be related.

I think this issue is the least of your problems right now!

RDSS is scratching horses that are running. DMR 6th race on 8/2/20, RDSS scratches #3, and # 10.

This is common for DMR when there are early scratches. The scratched horse is not included in the Data file. In this case, the #1 is an early scratch. So RDSS checks the tote board and sees that the first horse is scratched. So, it scratches the first horse which is really the #2 horse. This has been previously reported and the workaround is to disable the tote board function in RDSS.

All good responses, thanks! Solution for DMR and SA races when you notice Early Scratches (and thus corresponding MISSING horse numbers): turn off the tote system. I have never seen Early Scratches omitted from the running horse lineup at any other track. At other tracks the horses are included but shown as scratched.

This problem with DMR and SA and Early Scratches when connected to the tote system will be addressed in an update.

Do I need to do something to get the toteboard working consistently? It seems to randomly go out. Seems to only work about 1/2 the time.

Kevin, I'll admit, it's flakey. Sometimes tote data stops because the feed from TwinSpires stops (especially on high traffic stakes days). But the current version of RDSS also has a problem if you have assembled all races for a day, then are looking at a given race, then we move on to the next race, sometimes (always?) tote data does not start for that next race. In that case, you have to reassemble that race to start catching tote data again, with the downside of losing any customized line selection or Contender separation decisions you made .

Either the first update will get the worst of the bugs fixed then out to everyone, followed by a more complete update (by years-end?) - my preferred approach, OR I wait longer for a more complete update.

That's what I've got on this.

Ted

Email me. Let set up a time to connect remotely, tomorrow if you're free.
