Thanks Gene. Richie, Mitch 44 and I met in 1990 at Docs Saratoga seminar and have been friends ever since. We all handicap using the Docs guidelines but each of us has some little twist we employ a little differently. I've told people that if I were at the track with either of them, and had not done my own capping, I would have no problem playing their picks without question. I can think of no higher compliment to pay a fellow capper then to have complete faith in them.

That is the highest compliment for sure.
I have had the pleasure recently to speak with both Ritchie and Galen and observed exactly what you mean.
Based on your posted picks, it is obvious to me that you are a top handicapper as well.
Best of luck

Thanks Gene. All of us do well now but we all struggled at the beginning. It took me nearly 8 yrs to become a consistent winner. When I retired in 1998 I began keeping records and confining play to 1 track a day. I cut down on exotic betting and began concentrating on getting my win bet % up. It took a lot of work but I finally got there. I suggest that newer members take advantage of the library section where they can find excellent info in the form of video and audio tapes and the follow up. Ask question on this forum. You will get answer. And they can do like you did reach out to veteran members they feel might help them. I wish you all the best in your handicapping ventures.

Thanks Tim,

I have been looking at the articles in the library. Even though they are old, I find them very informative and helpful with the Sartin methodology.

True that a lot of old programs are the ones that are addressed but Tom Brohamers' tapes on contender and paceline selection is just as valid as they were then. Record keeping is also covered. I love listening to Bruce Jorgesen, Marion Jones and Glen Connelly. You can see them on the 93 Las Vegas video and also hear them on audio tapes of various seminars.Their approaches are straight forward and easy to follow. The Docs 3 part video is excellent and in fact is what turned me around. I still go back and listen them. I'm in the process of relisting to Toms' taped right now. You be surprised how you will hear something that you have forgotten or are overlooking now. We can always improve our game.
