I didn't pay much attention to Handicapping Magic when Pizzola suggested that UNLIKE the dirt, the relative abilities of turfers should be based on their LAST BEST using ALL of their turf lines. Since I had not attempted a trial of that, I just put it on the back burner as everyone knows I am no turf bettor..

Here is a tip: IT WORKS and you get prices. I used each horses top and then just looked at the Incremental screen. Maybe I'll start looking at the turf more often now. Another splitzacta here.

Tim,

I'm more than a little dense. Can you please explain what "LAST BEST using ALL of their turf lines" means in simpleton terms.

Does it mean

1. Use their most RECENT turf line regardless of how far back.
2. Use their best Turf line Period based upon Tot E or SR ?
3. Choose all their turf lines and let the program decide ?

I use best TPP on turf as the initial line then, if different, I compare to their best L/EP ranking as secondary confirmation. usually use two as comparitives and take the best of the two on incremental deceleration screen as the one I rank the wagers upon.

RECENCY has NOTHING to do with this angle

Great job,Tim...On turf, seems best not to hide any horses if they have
turf lines.Do you use their best within the last 365 days or you go further
than that?...Thanks.

just the last ten unless it is TWO years ago

this one was almost a BOMB based upon using the Pizzola window. The six was ranked first, ran first at 48-1 and then dQ'd so that the second and third ranked ran up into the excacta.

got the 6 and 8 mixed up. 8 was ranked first 6, second.

Thank you for sharing this unique look at the grass.

For today at Gulfstream in Race 6 I see 2-7-4 in that order on 3 screen using your outline so 2 and 7 would be the top 2.

Gulfstream Race 8 I see 6-3-4 in that order so 6 and 3 would be the top 2.

These races are after scratches.

Can you check your reads and confirm/deny/enlighten ??

Since they changed the track configuration, I don't play Gulfstream....especially when Tampa offers such juicy cards and good prices down the road.
