Obtaining older programs

How would one go about obtaining some of the older programs? I'm just learning to use the methodology and reading through the manuals, etc. One of the older programs called UltraScan seems pretty much right up my ally as to how I like to handicap and would probably be more understandable to me as to what it's doing and how to handicap with it. So I'm looking to see where I can get a copy of the program but I'm not sure what there is out there.

I have Contender Scan, and I'll have to look. I may have UltraScan. WHat are you planning on running it on ?

I have some interest too. I run my DOS programs on DOSBox with success. Shoot me a PM if you are willing to share or trade.

Well I'm using a pretty new laptop Windows 7. But I have some skill with programming so no matter what the program was designed to originally run on, I feel I would be able to rewrite parts or all of the code to get it to run well on the newer machines.

Question Old program for pocket computer.

In 1991 I had a program loaded into My Tandy PC 6 . I received assistance by one of the Gentlemen involved with the book "Pace makes the Race". The prompts are D/2nd call/final call/2nd bl/final bl/variant/track to track-and then gives EPR and FFR and then TPR.
I have had quite a bit of success with this but there are some problems I would love to correct.

1. There are no prompts for any distance under 51/2 F
2.When 10 F is entered I get flawed results.
3. There are no prompts for any distance over 10 F.

When I received my PC 6 with the program installed I hand copied the program and it has right at 41 steps.
Any help for these problems would be appreciated.
This is a program using the research of H. Sartin.

Can't do

Hello
Its not your fault. According to Doc races less than 5.5 furlongs and over 9.5 furlongs were not conducive to a pace program.
Those distance can not be used in the older programs

I find that changing the distance of 5 furlong races to 5.5 furlongs and adding
6.2 seconds to the final time works OK
For races over 10 furlongs I just use 9.5 furlongs as the distance
and pray LOL no really except for the Kentucky derby I just watch races over 9.5 You should read Bill Lysters marathon race post
