Here is today's update on the weather in Louisville for Derby weekend. It looks like another wet one.

The main track today went from sly to good after 4 races. Apparently this is one fast drying track when rain stops and sun comes out.

of course it's going to rain...I live 120 miles west of Louisville and it does nothing but rain in this area...rained yesterday today and they are calling for rain all weekend...bummer

That would be southern Illinois. I hope you aren't near a river. In Nashville, we have shattered all of the "rain" records.

Here's the hourly forecast for Louisville on Derby Day. Frankly, it's not as bad as I had expected. I just checked the conditions and Churchill has the track listed as Fast/Firm. Lt. Tim is right, Churchill does drain well so I'm ignoring the off-track pedigrees for now.

CD is famous for drying out quickly. It is supposed to rain within the next 2 hours.

Sorry for the poor geography but I know exactly where Evansville is. I played in a golf tournament there as a young man, back in the days of hickory shafts and gutta percha balls.
