Doc wrote years back about stop playing around with the programs and focus on profit because of impending tough economic times.

THOSE TIMES ARE HERE NOW.

I just received a letter from my oil supplier cancelling my contracted price of heating oil for the upcoming winter here in NY. They claim an "Act of God" which Hurricane Katrina is to be reason to nullify my capped price I spent many hours working on to get. I am looking at THOUSANDS and THOUSANDS of dollars just to heat the house here now this winter.

In addition GASOLINE prices are going to EASILY surpass the 3 dollar a gallon price and there is NO end in sight as far as how high they go.

On top of this FOOD and ESSENTIAL goods HAVE to go up in price because of the rise in ENERGY prices to get the goods to the stores. This is an automatic reaction.

I am writing this to the blue collar guys here. The rich can continue to play with the programs and lurk here. That is their luxury because they can afford NOT to HAVE to make money from racing to help with the bills.

I along with many people here are going to have to increase my income to offset these ridiculous spikes in energy prices. I can take another job or CONCENTRATE on getting the added cash from the races.

We ALL face choices in life. Regarding all facets. With what is about to go down with our economy relating to energy I need to take racing and it's profit potential more seriously than I ever have before. This coming from someone who for extended periods of time has paid his bills from racing alone.

Fun and games are OVER. PERIOD.

I wish everyone the best and NOW is the time to FOCUS on ONE program and learn all it's nuances.

Good post Richie... I think that is pushing me back in 2... I'll have 2 kids in college real soon - which will quickly wipe out my savings.

Here in the Maryland area some stations are up to 3.29 per gallon and I cant get my company to give me a gas increase yet they charge the customers extra on their delivery.I guess I will be playing from home a lot more now.Shoeless

Figures the day I go 3/4 time on my delivery comany
and 1/4 regular job They raise gas prices way up

Thats it for me. Looks like I'm staying home and wagering online
And really must focus !!!!
No way I can see driving to the track , I will save for special
trips but they can keep there $3.25

Very well put, Richie. This an utter outrage! Gasoline prices continue to reach heretofore unseen highs and our 'leaders' in D.C. don't do sh*t about it 'cept offer lip service!

You are 100% right Jon. This screwing of the public relating to energy and alternate sources of it spreads to both sides of the aisle man. Big Oil has the final say.

Our politicians have sold us the fu** out .

Left my house very early yesterday morning drove by my local station sign read $ 2.77 a gallon went past it last night at 8 same sign said $ 3.06
