Steve Davidowitz Books
Has anyone read:
"Betting Thoroughbreds for the 21st Century: A Professional's Guide for the Horseplayers" Any opinions on the book, if you have read it? Happy Punting Jon |

Its a very good book Jon. Its a little harder to make money with some of his concepts with all the trainer stats that now exists.
Looking through the trainers window I thought was the best chapter. Back in the early 80's I collected my own stats. There still are some viable moves that aren't much in the public domain. I really made some good money with it but the more data I collected on trainers the more confusion set in, it wasn't unusual to find several trainers all making their moves in a race which caused indecision. I'm in the camp now of it all comes down to the horse. Mitch44 |

Yes I do have his Betting Thoroughbreds book but not the 21st Century one but here are my favourite chapters from the one I have(may/may not be the same):
The Money Tree (strategy from a good trainer) The Key Race method (You must try this when you do to the track) An Edge in Class (Picked tons of winners recently at Charles Town and Penn National) Pace and Single Race Bias Working With Workouts (Great for maidens for cheap claimers) The Drug Factor (ONLY 1st time L 2nd time L, 1st time B or 2nd time B) Promising Exotic Plays (Great for winding down your bet size) I am wanting to get his 21st Century just have not went ahead and did that lol

I have 3 books by him and they are all good. Lots of nuggets in them, I still use of his teachings. Good reading all.

It is an excellent book and I agree with Conley the chapter edge in class
was the best. When he wrote about this originally there were no designations in the PP'S for this so you would have to keep the racing forms for the charts to do this. |
