Some thoughts . since 2000 only 3 horses have won the Preakness, having skipped the
Kentucky Derby
They are Rachel Alexander, Bernardini and Red Bullet
Both Rachel( Kentucky Oaks Grade 1) and Red Bullet ( Wood Memorial G1) fit the guide lines of a grade 1 or 2 win or place finish
Bernardini won the grade 3 Withers at Aqueduct $150.000
