WOW!!! is that really a SR 114 for midni??? I am assuming that's a raw fig?
don't even think California chrome has run a 114 SR. I think best is 109.

Just curious,

Continued Success!,

Post 2006 scale

Hi Paul

Ramon is using hand entry Validator It is still adjusting the DRF speed rating and track variant based on a formula that changed in 2006
Plus Valm or val hand entry is making adjustment with its on track to track formula that is based on a 3 year best speed rating

Val 4 after 2006 is using a different speed rating scale as well as a DTV adjustment and a ITV adjustment that is not based on the 3 year best
speed rating system

To show what is going on

Here are Ramons lines in 3 different Sarin programs

First here are Ramons lines in pre 2006 scale Synthesis

Right ! ValM will give erroneous speed ratings. But I know that and don't pay much attention to them. I'm looking at the other readouts for a wagering decision. I can see where the 114sr would get your attention.

Ted probably will explain this much better, But in Binderees Its something Doc call Par Gaps and a formula with an inter track variant and 1/2 of the DTV . All the lines you see on the adjusted screen readouts are
adjusted normalized and equalized to 1 mythical track. In the original Red Match Up manual this was called Sartin Downs

If today's race is at 9 furlongs Every pace line is adjusted based on this par gaps figure/formula plus 1/2 of the days daily track variant plus the inter track variant. So in a sense every paceline has been run on the exact same
track on the same day and at 9 furlongs All the lines are as if the horse ran at today distance .

When Doc and Track Master first came up with this
Sartin Downs formula the speed rating scale used by Track Master was different than it is today- It changed dramatically around late 2004
The problem is this new scale did not match the scale Doc programmed.
The big problem was at the time 2004,Doc was retired. For almost a year we had to put up with these wild way too fast speed ratings, But as Ramon says it really does not matter to him since those speed rating are all relevant to him.

Ted was able to go into Val 4 and adjust the new scale to match Doc's scale
so that is why Val 4 or Val 2006 as its also called and Spec and RDSS
all have speed rating as Doc wanted them.

Since Ramon is using Valm Ted did not adjust that program. Ramon is
using the SR and DTV with a Intertrack variant that has not been updated since probably 2000, This is why he gets very different speed ratings

Bill

Thank you very much for such a detailed answer to my question Bill.

I do now remember doc talking about par gaps in one of the follow-ups.

Thank you Kindly,

Paul
