Matching Up CRC Today 6/15
Did anybody Match Up CRC today? I did and I went 1 for 8. Very depressing.
I just couldn't understand some of those results. In the second race, my intuition told me to go with the 1, but I didn't because of the short price. So instead of passing I picked someone else. The 1 didn't really match up right either. There was a faster early in the race. I just felt he was going to win it. He did--I didn't. The last race was a lone early, that I just flat out missed. For some reason I didn't think he could wire it. I have no idea why. It's amazing to me how often (at least once a day) lone early will win paying 10, 15 or 20 to one. I hit one the other day like that, but I must have just blanked out on this one. The whole day just didn't mesh. Hitting that last race would have saved the day. It paid $24.20. All the other races I missed were just flat out...bleh. Back to the drawing board. |

Steve,
I know how you feel. I hit race after race at Belmont and then lost my shirt and one of my socks at the mountain. My best play and largest wager of the day was leading buy several lengths coming down the stretch and wouldn't change leads and got passed well before the wire. Oh well, tomorrow is another day. My modus operandi and advice is this: If you lose three in a row, that's it. It's not your day! Time to throw in the towel!
Unless you're 'investing' with play money and are determined to go on, your best move is to pack it in, unwind, regroup, and come back with a fresh mind, attitude and outlook for the next day's races. Or whenever "next" time is. Regards, Jon

3 in a row and its time to go . I pack up if I'm at the track or shut down If I'm home What helps me is to read Follow ups , look for post here and just watch races and Then when I get that feel again I almost always get back into a good cycle |

Losing three in a row is nothing, unless you let it get to you.
Anytime you let it get to you, it's time to throw in the towel. I've lost 30, 35 in a row on more than one occasion and it hasn't bothered me. Conversely, I've lost one race (that I couldn't lose and hammered) and it's thrown me for a tailspin. Keeping records helps. That way you know you're going to encounter inevitable losing streaks, but you'll snap out of them. What's your win percentage? What's your ROI? Knowing these things helps. Victory is around the corner. Don't play if you're not feeling well or have "left the zone." As long as you're feeling sharp and okay you can continue to play, regardless of how many loses you've had that day. Otherwise you might walk away from the next race where you'd have a $20 winner. |

2 horses records
Hello David
I also want to add that 3 race losing streaks for me mean 2 horses per race I guess if I was an exotic or one horse bet guy three would not be too bad I strongly recommend to everybody to listen to Dick Schmidts Setting Goals MP3's in the P and C library I just started to write all my bets before the race and its helping with the losing streaks all my bets on paper its nice to see those $30 horses Did I do That!!!! |

3 in a Row
I myself don't like losing 3 in a row especially if I am betting 2 horses to win. All that being said I think it more important that you are "Dialed In" to the day's races.
I can usually tell when I am not "Dialed In" as my mind is all over the place, and I am second-guessing myself, listening to outside sources, and forcing bets that I normally don't consider. To me this is the time for me to call it a day. |

Horse racing is a bit like golf. You go out one day and score an 82, your best round.
Now you think "i got the game under controll"...confidence is high. You go out next day, and guess what happen...you didn't have it after all, and score 98. Why did happen, because you didn't manage your game properly, you took unnecesary shots. Why bet a race where your opinion is limited or non existent. lbj |
