*RDSS Update V0.97.8*
Hello Friends,
I have posted an update to RDSS on the RDSS Download Forum for the testing group and just sent everyone an email. If you thought you were in the RDSS testing group but did not receive the email or can't login to the Download Forum using your Pace and Cap UserID, just drop me a line at ted@ArtofPace.com I've added new Paceline Indicators based on unadjusted (or adjusted) Pace of Race Total Energy where the horse ran well (Powerlines?) which Richie has been discussing lately, Layoff markups, a new Configuration Settings window which permits some control over how adjustments are used. I also kinda spruced up the RDSS Desktop. Here are the release notes for anyone interested: www.ArtofPace.com/pubs/RDSS_Update_Notes_0978.pdf FYI, I plan to hold some Online Seminars in the next several days to go over some of the new features. I'll let you all know when that will be, for whoever is interested. I'll also hold some more online introductory seminars in case any of the newer testers (or spectators) are interested. Happy Valentine's Day! yours, Ted

Could not connect to the TrackMaster server? Does the software retry every 15 seconds to connect? Do you ever connect? Can you connect by just goind to their main page via your browser, or by the direct link to the RDSS file downlod page? Ted

Ted:
This weekend I used the new version to handicap for the first time. One problem. On the configuration screen I asked the program to show power moves but it did not show any in any of the races from SA or TP. Am I missing something here? |

Hmmm,
Are you sure the box is checked?

Power Moves problem
Ted:
See the screen shots of the config screen and a few of the entrants from TP 11 today. I exited program and re-started to no avail. Do we apply old computer trick and just access update and reload? |

Ted,
I have the same problem that Bill does. I did the races for Philly and Tampa, and made sure those boxes were checked. This has been happening since I downloaded the update. Ira |

Ted,
I'm having similar problems. Just looked at todays Pha and some of the power moves are highlighted-some aren't. I.e. in todays 2nd, Pha, the one horse shows a power move between the 1st and second calls two back, but not for the last in which he gains more lengths to a faster second call. Richard Still lovn rdss, just caught that 25/1 shot in philly 2nd! |

Could those of you who experience this problem despite having checked the 'Display Strong Moves' box please look in your RDSS.INI file (a Configuration type file on your RDSS folder, opens with Notepad), and look for a line starting with 'Powermove_display=' in the [General] section, and tell me the value on the right hand side of the = sign
It could be 0, or 1 or just blank. If there is no such line at all, please let me know. If this doesn't shed any light, I'll do an interim debugging version to gather some more info. Dodeca, what you refer to is a different issue. You see some underlines (Strong Moves) just not where you'd define them. In future I will make the definition of such moves more under you control. Right now, per the last Release Notes, the definition is: "...position gains of 3 or more between any 2 call points. This includes where a horse got the lead at the 2nd Call or Stretch call and extended his lead to the finish by 3 or more lengths over the rest of the field (a Big Finish)." This was not the case for the last line, but I agree that first call move was a good move into a strong pace and would show up so if you were to compare the POR vs POH on a graph However, missing Strong Move markups (the underlines) altogether: this is a bit strange, but thank you all none the less for the reports: it's precisely what I am expecting from the testing group! Thanks very much! Ted
