Gp
My friends and I played the late P-5 at GP today and hit 4 of 5 and got 248.70 as a consolation.
LT1 and I went over these races prior to my placing the bet. I decided to play p-3 in races 8-9-10. I used the 2-6-7 in the 9th the all in race 10 because after scratches only 4 horses were left. Race 11 I used the 1-3-6 The cost was 18.00 R 9) the 2 won at 5.20 R 10 ) the all pd. 21.00 R 11 ) the 6 paid 68.40 and was my 2nd choice . the p-3 paid 547.10 for a nice profit of 529.10 Rmath |

Nice work Rich. The key to a good day was race 11 and the 6 horse. We spent almost 20 mins going back and forth on the merits of the 1 & 6. When the smoke cleared we decided to use both in the p5. Since I wasn't that high on r11[a 3 yr old State bred stake] I passed on the p3. When the race came up I played $3 wp on the 6 and played my top 3 picks [356]in a $1 box ex. The 6 won [68.40,16.00] and the 3 ran 2nd to complete a $130.90 ex. So for a $12investment I got back $257.50 for a profit of $245.50. I really enjoy working races with Richie and exchanging different viewpoints especially when it leads to nice scores like this.

Congratulations you two ! That was a good day, I got a piece of that race myself boxing the 3,5,6,8 for an exacta, not savvy or trusting in my skill enough to play the p3's and p4's yet, learning from you guys. Fun race !!

Nice job KM. P3s and 4s are strictly a matter of ones preference [not to mention bankroll]. We look for sequences that don't have mdn races with FTS. Just for full disclosure both Rich and I overlooked the fact that race 10 only had 4 horses so Rich used the 3 we had agreed on. Had we been more alert and added that horse[won the race] we would have hit the P5 for $29k. Oh well the conso was pretty good and the r11 results helped eased some of the pain.

Thanks Mitch and KM.
Km congrats on you hit. It is very rewarding to know that there are others using what several of us older members have been trying to teach in order to carryon what Doc taught us. Keep up the good work and if you ever have a question , please ask it and someone will always help. LT. and I had a good talk about yesterdays GP card, and as you can see even we make some mistakes now and then ( sometimes they are costly mistakes ), but we try to learn from them. Rmath |
