In this manual page 16
A simple method of self diagnosis & treatment

Doc ask that you do a test

20 races. Win bets only Two horses and write down your comments
and feelings right after each race

these are mine

Any feelings ??

I see that I take losses hard I ran second often
I eliminated low paying winners more than i would have thought

I might have felt pressure in the last quarter of the test
when I had a hot streak in the middle quarter
I thought I would be happier

any thoughts

The Psychology of Winning

1. Loss The winner only had one usable line That 4.5 furlongs race was the first after a layoff- workout?
2. Win The winner was the best. My second win bet placed exacta $37.80
3.Loss No comment my horses ran 4th and out
4.Loss Just missed. My bets 2nd and 4th
5. Won Superfecta was my 4 contenders Kgen 6-9-8-7 Finish 6 8 7 9
6 Win The top rated # 6 won at 6/5 Cool, Hoped for a better price
7 Win Perfect.! Win bets ran 1 -2 !!! YES 9/2
8.Loss No problem next
9.Loss No problem
10 Win Very nice
11.loss Ran second no problem winner ran second paid nothing ($3.80)
12. Loss Win bets ran second and third Exacta paid $49.00 with the 3rd choice
13. Win Both bets went off at 2/1 The one I bet the 60% ran second the exacta was two win bets
14.Loss My bets were the 5 and 8 The 5 took the lead late but the favorite caught it a the wire
15. Win No problem
16.Loss Ran second to the $5.00 winner I eliminated it off low total energy
17.Loss I did not enter a comment
18.Loss First 3 race losing streak Want to do something else.
19.Loss Not Good Total confusion I feel like I will never win again
20. Win Very nice I will do it again BETTER

Ragin,

I find that it is hard to look at yourself.
This is the most honest business to be in.
If you are not honest with yourself, you lose.
If you make mistakes, you lose as there is no one there to bail you out.
You are only rewarded from your own effort.
You can't have someone do your handicapping for you, it just doesn't work.
When you lose you have to keep it to yourself and not take it out on someone else. But when you win everybody expects you to share.
It's not hard work, but your always tired after a day of handicapping.
Some times I have to sit back and really look at myself and ask why am I doing this for so little reward, but then I can't describe what it feels like to watch a horse come across the finish line first at 20/1.
One that you had figured hours before to do just that.
