I'm only giving my take on the Preakness to those who posted replies to my Derby take.
Everybody sees the same #'s,everybody interprets them differently. If your looking for a fast track-bet Santa Anita. They're expecting 1-2 inches of rain saturday right up to 4 or 5 pm in Baltimore. Horses that won exclusively on a sloppy track are the 1-2-5 and 9 horses.A good friend of mine always said that an off track is the "great equalizer".
Thorograph says that Niquist ran his best race ever in the derby and should bounce(0). His 3 races this year were a 3-4-0, besides you'll never get rich betting even money or odds on horses. The 7 horse to me is also interesting. I've always liked to bet horses that can go wire to wire on the grass in the slop. His 1st start on grass he won basically w-w;moved up to a mile on grass and was forwardly placed missing by 1-1/4 lengths;won at sunland park and to show that was no fluke he came back to win at keenland by 4 lengths and in both dirt races was forwardly placed. So i'm adding #7 to the mix with the 1-2-5- and 9,as horses to use in my exotics. Now the 2 and 11 are both lightly raced and are on the improve off their last race and the 11 showed he could win on a"good"wet track. So he's in my mix too.
So who do i key on? Well the #9 won his last six races in a row(undefeated in 2016) and is out of a dynaformer mare. Dynaformer offspring love wet tracks. #2 ran against #5 and came back and won off that race. The #'s 7 & 11 never faced this level of competition before and so i'm boxing the 2-5-9 and keying them over the 1- 3-7-11 in my exotics. WIN Bets on the 2 and 9- i'm expecting no value on the 5 to win. Good luck and don't forget your umbrellas!! Later, Omar( the "O" man).
P.S. I've been wrong before. I just hope this isn't one of those times!
