Daily varient in Syn.

When asked for the daily varient do you have to be inputing from the Daily Racing Form pp,s or can I just enter 0 or 17 or anything I want. The pp,s from The likes of TSN or Bris don't have daily varients.

After asking for the track record it then asks for the 2nd call time and final time.
What second call and final time?
Is this for the fastest horse in this race or the record times?

Also is there a way to download files like from Trackmaster or TSN or a way to convert files over just by changing their name.

I'm not operational yet and would like to be.

I guess your using Syn 2 the variants I use are the ones in the DRF.The 2nd call and final time are from the horses that you are putting in pacelines for. These should be taken from TODAY'S TRACK AND SETUP DISTANCE.When you are putting in a setup distance it should be from the most like distances at today's track. For example today you are playng a race from CT at 7 fur and you are using pacelines from 3 races at 6.5 fur and 2 races at 7 fur you would use the setup distance at 6.5 fur.Purdy says the best way to use Synergism is to get all the horses with all the same distances. The reason being he setup the program to do par variants the same way Brohammer does. The Shoe

In other words I have to use the DRF.

Yep, but if you didnt know already that other stuff is as important as well.

SpeedPlus

Froggy,

I use SpeedPlus to convert my pacelines into a SYN2 file.

You won't need to put all that other nonsense in by hand.

When you create a SYN 2 file, all you have to do is load it into the program.
However, you will need to study and practice with the SpeedPlus progam.
It takes lots of practice and repetition in order for you to get up to speed.
This will come with time and patience and possibly a little guidence and input from those that know how to use it.

I'm fairly successful with this method. Today at CTX ( 5 winners, out of 7 races ).

froggy 05-20-2007 08:36 PM

Parts,

How does that work and is it hard to get whatever you use to do it?

Froggy

partsnut 05-20-2007 08:42 PM

Froggy,

It's as simple as sending an email. :D

shoeless 05-20-2007 09:11 PM

Parts,I really dont think that stuff you put in by hand is nonsense that's the way the program was meant to be used.No matter which way you do it if the right pacelines are not put in it really wont matter anyway. The Shoe

Because this program was written a number of years ago, it was probably
meant to be used manually. However time changes lots of things.
You can choose to be backward and not adapt to new techology and ideas or you can come out of the dark ages and try to improve on the old by using tools that were not available or not being used at that time

Jeff, I am referring to SYN 2. All I'm saying is that Syn 2 for the most part automatically adjusts for pars and variant and if you use updated pars in SpeedPlus and create a SYN 2 file that is adjusted by pars and variant, there would be no need for manual input whatsoever or the racing form for that matter if you use AOdds, which in my opinion tells you a lot more then the form.
However, for some it is easier to type in all the data by hand and for others that are somewhat computer literate, might choose to create the SYN 2 file with speedplus. It's all about setting up a routine that is fast and efficient.
All it takes is practice and repetion. It's like walking and chewing gum at the same time. :D Some can can do it and others can not.

I will say your right on about the contenders and pace lines. Without these nothing will help.

Hey Shoe,

Froggy was saying that with Bris file you can't see the variant.

Can you help him with that? Isn't there a way you CAN bring it out big bro?

BRIS has a DRF style speed rating and variant in their data file; they just don't display it in their PDF past performances. If you run the BRIS $1 data file through the BRIS past performance generator you can display it on screen or print it out.

Dick,

I have the TSN pp Generator and pp files down loaded from Brisbet.
Are these what you are refering to?

If so exactly what do I do with them?

I don't believe the TSN Past performance generator will open Bris data files and the TSN data files don't have the drf SR+TV in them. If you are getting the free PDF files from Brisbet, they are not going to do the job.

Brisnet has a software data file called the "DRF data file (single)" that sells for $1.00 a card. If you bet a certain amount a month thru Brisbet you do get a discount on the files. They also have a "Bris Custom Past Performance Generator" program which is free and operates just like the TSN version.

When you get your Bris Past Perfromance Generator installed, load up up your *.DRF data file, goto (Styles) (Create a new Style), name your style and then goto (Styles) (Edit a Style) and you'll have a box displayed that lets you edit (Items) (Options) or (Filters). Under items, you'll see a whole list of things with checkboxes of to the side for "displayed on Screen" or "Printed".

The items that are normally displayed have checks in the boxes. Scroll thru the list and you'll run on to DRF SR+TV. Check the box and it should appear somewhere when you go back to the past performance screen. The numbers off to the far right control where it is displayed or printed.

If you play with it a lot, you will eventually come up with a past performance that shows exactly what you want. Their help system has extensive screenshots and will run you through it. With a lot of study and a lot of experimentation you will eventually come up with your own Custom Past Performance for viewing or printing.

Good luck.

Bris DRF single data file

I think this is the best way to go at $1.00 a card. You can drive the PP Generator, Aodds98, and MPH with this data file. You will get the DRF speed rating and track variant for use with SynergismIV and this file can probably be used with other programs as well.

froggy 05-21-2007 06:49 PM

Thanks guys,

The pp generator from tsn will take the Brisnet/DRF data files but won't display the the drf s+v.
I down loaded the pp generator from brisnet and that works real fine.

You can view the DRF-TV in TSN PP Generator, you just have to create a style to display it.

Click Styles>Create a New Style. Then name it DRF+TV.

When the edit box opens, scroll down to number 500 as shown here:

Then put checkmarks in the boxes for DRF SR and DRF TV. Also renumber their order to 355 and 356 as shown here:

Then your pp's will show the numbers in the same spot as the Daily Racing form does.

The advantage is that the TSN PP Generator will open both TSN and BRIS files, whereas the BRIS version opens BRIS files only.

I thought AOdds required the special "Hat" file.

Dump,

So thats the secret.

I didn't renumber.

We'll all know next time.

Thanks,
