Matchup

Count me in, too.

My matchup skills have suffered due to neglect because of a number of medical problems I've been dealing with and I don't want to get too far behind the curve if I can help it...

Fl

Well, my nose hurts.
I need to go back and reverse engineer to figure out what I used to do with my former procedure. I never wrote it down.

Finger Lakes 8-7-14

Folks,

It's been a while so I need to ease back into this game. I'm playing with Monopoly Money for now and sticking to sprints for the time being.

My picks for FL for tomorrow are:

R1-#5...

Gaps 'cause of fog or a driving snow

Terry,
Sometimes you will see gaps in the fractions if the caller couldn't see the horses. I have witnessed a few races at Mnr and other places where the pea soup was so thick you could not see a...

Redeeming Qualities

Terry,

Looking at the lineup, you have at least 4 earlies, which means the race will probably be won OTE. That's exactly what happened. The 4, 5 and 6 horses got into a pace battle and killed...

Old Horses

Last year, here at EMD, Wasserman was still running at age 10. Lifetime earnings about $.6 million. Another (whose name escapes me at the moment) ran well in several races here at the age of 12!
I...

You Call the Race

Who's frowning? The name of the game is profit. $24.80 is nothing to sneeze at.

Days Off

1C and 2C times are faster than what David the Great can handle successfully.
#4 Crosseyed and #Sunshine Brother killed each other off by the quarter pole and #3 Gameball swooped in to pick up the...

Days Off

For myself, back after 7 days+decent trainer win % (12%+)=horse s/b looked at closely. The trainer must think the horse has a shot. How well did the horse do last time out? Good race or bad?

Running Styles

Terry,

I'm not the one to answer that question, but my opinion is that the software tries to do a good job of defining running style and Quirin speed points. Anything better would probably be...

Par Charts

What is your favorite track? Two outfits sell them right now that I know of. One sells individual charts (limited selection) and the other bunch makes you buy a whole book for all the tracks...

You don't need to pay for par times if you are simply looking for the differences in track speeds between various tracks. Go to http://www.americanturf.com/equalization/ where they have an...

This horse looks like a pure Early and needs the lead or else gives up. She appears to be not able to handle the pace at 23.4 and 47.9, so throws in the towel.

Prx r10

Appears to me that's the fastest that nag ever run in his life. Changed his running style, too. I hate it when that happens.

Thanks Mark,

I completely forgot (another senior moment) the fact that a length at say-5 furlongs is quicker than a length at a longer distance like a mile. I'll have to calculate a chart at...
