As an afterthought, small and night tracks are a great venue for the matchup and other techniques that rely heavily on raw times, You have to make your own track to track adjustments, but the speed and pace figures from the major vendors almost universally suck.

They've got the problems that mechanical figures have everywhere, and at the minor tracks there is much less human intervention by a talented handicapper to massage the final published figures.
