Automatic PaceLine Selection
I know there will be many that disagree with me but I am looking forward to Ted putting in some automatic pace line selection schemes into RDSS. I'll tell you why...for consistency reasons. I can pick decent pace lines most of the time, but it takes up time and leads to fatigue. I prefer to spend the bulk of my time deciding "who/what/if" to bet. Kudos to Ted for this feature in an upcoming release.

Jim,
I ran out of gas for this current update! I've been testing 2 simpler automated paceline selection strategies so far, trying to get the hang of how to organize both the User Interface and the underlying description: 1. Powerlines (as indicated by the little coloured thingies): either best, 2nd best or both (Powerlines themselves need further intelligence, i.e. distance, surface criterea) 2. Last Race. After I get these simpler strategies set, one-by-one I'll try some others, e.g. 'best of last 3, similar' To go along with this, I've got a few navigational thingies too, like deselect all in the Analysis screen, or deselect all for a horse, etc. Let's see what's cooked in a few weeks. Ted

Sounds great Ted. FWIW, I've been using the colored power lines in an unconventional manner with some success. What I am doing is choosing the most recent colored power line as long as it is the same surface. That has improved results for me in the BL/BL.
Thanks for all you do. Jim |

Tying into Jim's post a little.
Track profile (obviously from result charts) RDSS uses %med. How far off would an in program track profile that would express the winner's %med from the result chart? Then have a user be able to break it down by a) date ranges b) track conditions(fst, sly etc) c) class(mdn, non mdn, stk) This info could then be nicely tied into a line selection criteria that Jim refers too. But before that the profile expressed in RDSS %med would be an extremely powerful tool imo. For BOTH contender and pace line selections. Maybe could be tied into a user getting the result charts in the "bundle". Value added feature that would more than offset the extra cost in the long run.
