Requesting Best Info on Betting from Hawaii
My wife is being transferred to Honolulu, so I'm going along for the kicks, sun, shade, water, pineapple, etc., etc. I'm not weeping, BUT, I would be interested in any first hand knowledge about the legality of internet betting from the islands. From what I have read so far, it does not sound promising and mostly not legal. Anyone know if a guy could place a legal bet there?
Thanks for all input, and NO, as much as I am sure I would enjoy all of you in person, the hotel is not open. However, drinks are available nightly for sunset services. Bill |

Gambling and Hawaii
Sorry Bill you have no gambling in Hawaii do not know if they have bookies maybe maybe not. That is a real tight state. Good luck maybe you can hook up with someone in the states as a go between.

What?? No wagering, i.e. 'gambling,' on horse races if you live/are vacationing in Hawaii?? What possible reason(s) could there be for this? It sure can't be from a morality standpoint, for if anything is 'immoral,' it's pornography!! And you can bet your ass that pornography is legal in our 50th state!!!
Anyone know what the reason(s) is/are for this gross absurdity/unfairness? Jon

Bill,
I don't understand. If you have an internet wagering account, does Hawaii have a law against interstate commerce in this regard? I live only minutes away from legal race books and haven't been within a mile of one in months. In my state of Arizona it is against the law to use an internet wagering site to bet on most if not all races run in this state. Brisbet will not allow me to place such wagers as I disclosed my state of residency when I signed up. Youbet asks for the state every time I log on and if I hit the wrong state of which I've done accidently on several occasions, I'm certain that big brother is not going to come after a small timer such as myself. Good luck on your move, Froggy |
