Me go shopping? Noooooo - I wouldn't go into a store today unless i could get gifts at cost.

Weather is decent today and the card at AQU is most surprising, not a maiden race on the card. I'll bet all races stay on the turf and I'll bet all worthwhile situations.

Meanwhile, if there's any gift buying, it will be done from the solitude of my PC.

I have been really impressed at the savings one can find at Amazon compared to retail. BIG differences

Absolutely, and often one can get free shipping. Many of my gift recipients will get books or DVDs and if you spend 25 bucks, you can get free standard shipping. It may take an extra day or two, but since it's four weeks before Christmas, what's the difference?

Often there's free shipping for big-ticket items also. Not long ago, I bought a printer from Amazon at the lowest online price I could find, and they just happened to have a promotion going on wherein any order of 100 bucks or more got free shipping. Right now there's free shipping on most Samsung TVs and my son wanted to get a particular 40-inch one anyway. Even the local retailers can only at best match the price, but they charge for delivery.

Now me, I'd wait for the day after Christmas if I were to be buying myself something in a store since retail sales aren't expected to be good this year and I figure I'll get an even better price at year-end.

I agree, but I also have the 1A and the 8 among my top three contenders. Going by the Pizzola window, and wagercapping for best price, I'm willing to take two chances to win a boxcar mutuel. Especially since the grass races won't be around much longer.
