Hello to the Spokesman

Hello Spokesman!

Glad to have you here . If you want a way to really get started fast get Bill V. to help you, he helped me learn to get a field down to five real fast with val 4. It is called the Adimn way. Just ask Bill he is great! Another guy that knows this stuff back to front is Richie P.He is our "MATCH UP" man he can do things that are well great to. And then there is TED he got us to where we are today with RDSS. Also a great help, These men will help you when you are down and be the first to tell you GOOD WIN! Old yeller can really mess with your head the way it is written just rember nothing has ever been taken out of it .. just updated as time went by. If I could I would like you to explain to me how a scratch in a grade 1 race works (THE PAMPULMOUSE) @ SANTA ANITA PARK IN THE SANTA ANTIA DERBY, as I understand it the track vet at Santa Antia found what was wrong with him "NOT HIS TRAINER" did the owners loose the money the group put up to enter him IN THE RACE as the track vet found him hurt? Also Alex Soluix how ever you spell this name got right back on TAKE THE POINTS ? The whole deal don't smell right to me. The trainer NOT knowing his BIG HORSE was hurt. and the person that RELOST THE MOUNT ON "TAKE THE POINTS" that really sux big time. A long time ago this stuff "what jockeys and trainers did drove me crazy. but DOCTOR SARTIN CURED ME. He told me I had NO CONTROL OVER JOCKEY OR TRAINERS SO... DON'T WORRY ABOUT IT just use my programs I never looked back except for a trainer named TROY YOUNG he drove me crazy at Louisana Downs and the Fair Grounds, Again DOC steped in, here is what he did I had to go threw the whole card where HE "TROY YOUNG was and bet every race that TROY YOUNG was in and go on with my handicapping well that fixed that with me...and TROY YOUNG never beat me again. Anyway could you Please take the time to explain how grade 1 race scratch works ?
One more last thing are you or do you know a trainer on the LOuisana and arkansas named J.R. SOLOU forgive the spelling I think it is your wife?
And do you rember a horse named GLASSPRO.. older horse he ran at Oaklawn and Fair grounds?
good skill

Grade one scratches , or a scratch from ANY race where a participant had to PAY to get in, allows the entrants to scratch right up until a short while before post time. One often see horses, for example, entered into let's say a Keeneland and an Aqueduct stake race on the same day. The belief here, to my understanding, is that the connections entered both and then once the field takes shape, will opt for the race where their chances are better. By scratching, they then forfeit all entrance fees.

Unlike regular races, where the only real reason has to be a vet scratch, or increasingly common are "conditional entries" where the racing secretary will allow the late scratch of a fit horse so as to run in another race that needs more entrants. The latter are really frustrating to the bettor and really should not be allowed.

Hey Stormbringer,

J.Y. Soileau is the trainer you mentioned. My wife is no relation. Her name is Sharon Soileau.

Thanks so very much for your helpful post. Tim did a pretty good job of answering your other questions. Here in Louisiana it is not uncommon to see a horse cross-entered in two races. A declaration must be made on race day as to which spot the horse will go in.

I kind of chuckled a little at your mention of Troy Young.

Fat cats have enough $$$$$ so that the small loss of a double stakes entry does not eat into the stake they make choosing the softer spot. Imagine dropping 2k in order to run for 60K in a softer filed. Happens all the time
