Best Perceptor/Last Three
For those that choose this (best perceptor) in paceline selection: do you stay with the pics, no matter what, are do you look at the chosen line and say pick another if it doesn't look right.
I'm finding more and more that I'm using manual selection.

Last line
I auto select the last line and change the line if I feel the line can be excused

I use the auto select and then review and change as needed.

Manual usually works best for me. As a final selection I weight recency of comparable condition, but do not agree that perceptor is necessarily an accurate gauge of how the horse will perform today.
One thing I enjoy doing is to insert various comparable lines from a horse's past performance just to see how readouts are effected by how the horse has performed on other occasions. This has led to some of my better wins.

I use the best last 3 perceptor and then check the lines and change them when I think there is a reason to do so.
Example today the horse is sprinting and one or two of the last 3 are routes and lines 4 & 5 are good sprints, then I will go back. I find that most of the time I stay with the programs lines. |

Me too. It's amazing how just one line to the other will take a horse from 1st to last with just a 15 day layoff and under the same conditions.
