6 and 2 for me on top; 3 to place, marathoning. I am hooked to both with the winner of race 6.

I agree 6-3-2 and no value. Both coming off layoffs. Most of the time the two best horses don't run one two and when they do the Ex. isn't worth the risk. I'll be watching the odds on the 2 as a possible upset. A fun bet or to mess up the Ex.
The computer doesn't do all that well with these marathon races, over a 9F their tough and this is 12 F. Hit the DD, the last two at Sar, so I can afford a fun bet with these tough races posted, but good practice. Keeps me sharp. Mitch44 |

The Hat's Marathon method really works. I got it down to the 9 and 3 in race 6, with the 3 running a 134.7 mile closing 5-4-4 with the stretch call being 0.7 while in 4th. The 9 was the only other horse close at the mile call, having run 8-2- x in a marathon before being vanned off, but he ran two good races after that to show he was in form.
The 2nd best mile time came from several that ran 136.x so the 134.7 was a real delineator, and it came off of an internal time of 110.2 |

Nice hit Bill, Terrific job. I didn't have time to look at the double. My play was:
COMPLETED: a89fa-eee3c DMR #7 $2 Exacta 2, WT, 3, 6 none $4.00 $58.60 + $54.60 COMPLETED: d0d87-892f6 DMR #7 $2 Exacta 3, 6, WT, 2 none $4.00 $0.00 - $4.00 the 3 & 6 would have paid $ 14 & the 6 & 3 $10 not for me, I really like the # 2 next to last was very good at 1 1/4 and I figure he was better on dirt. He was much faster in the early pace of his races.New trainer last 4 and on the improve, a real big class jump but the rest of the field wasn't much. With the paying $ 21.40 my $ 8 on win would have paid more than the EX. Go figure. Thanks Bill for the challenge. Mitch44 |

Yeah, I was surprised at the two win payoffs. I did not play win or place bets, just the double due to a shortage of funds in my account. However, my top three won both exactas (not played) Now, we play on with some $ in the bank.
In the 7th, the 2 was ready to make the jump from NW2x, and closed well doing 8-7-5-3 at the finish off of a 136.5 mile time. The 6 was a two time G3 winner and its race with a 135.4 mile time was fastest, but closed 6-6-5-3, but only gained a 1/2 a lengths from mile to end, doing 6.5-6.0 while gaining positions. The 3 was also a 2x G3 winner, but looked to run too sustained and from too far back running 7-7-2-1 in the race I used, but it was a 137.7 mile time. The 3 was 4th in this race. The 5 finished 3rd. |

I was also surprised at the payoffs. I knew the # 2 had a big shot despite stepping up in class, my problem was I couldn't figure which of the 3 or 6 which one was going to run out. With both coming off a layoff and going that distance one of them figured to not be ready. The trainers stats for both were OK coming from a layoff so no help there. That's why I had the # 2 3rd when I figured he could win or be second and destroy the EX. which is why I bet it like I did and knew That going in with my post.
Like you I prefer DD as winners are easier to pick than EX., in this case I didn't have the time to look at that. I was playing SAR and hit the last DD there for $8 While I put this horse 3rd I had all the intention of playing it. I did the same thing about a week ago with a race that was put up with a another horse whose number was #2. I forget the race, BTW there's no red boarding here with races put up and posts prior to post time. Additionally those following can learn from them. Again Bill big congrats. Mitch44 |

Thanks Mitch
Pace and cap does offer us many ways to develop and grow. We have such an advantage, Doc was unable to provide races daily that his group could work, You had to either go to a seminar or workshop. When I used to call him on the phone he would do both, He would review a race I sent him, or we would go over a race from the follow up "problem races" OR He would tell me to work a race for him and explain what I was doing, Then he would point me to the winner. Jim Bradshaw had me just work races and said nothing till I was finished, He then went into his office and pulled up the results on another computer, and then would call me in and just say two things He would say "Bill you won or you lost" and then we moved on to another race. They taught me very well. all different ways but in all cases, they did a good job We have had many who have joined into these daily feature race workshops maybe not every race but I'm encouraged enough to continue. Saratoga is a great betting track. I have been posting the feature races mostly from Del Mar because I feel the late post time, allows the people with day time jobs an opportunity to look them over Good Skill to us all Day 7 race up next Bill |
