Can not convert Tackmaster file for DMR for Friday 7/27/07
Ted:
I downloaded the Trackmaster file for DMR, Friday 7/27/07 using RDSS and it will not allow me to convert data to data base. I believe there is something wrong with the Trackmaster file since I tried to open it with Spec 160 and once I selected it the program would just shut down. I had earlier downloaded the Saratoga 7/27/07 file and everthing was fine so I am assuming that the problem is just with the Del Mar file. Robert |

Thanks Bill. I will try as you say and download directly from the Trackmaster file and let you know how it turned out. Before I posted this problem I had actually downloaded again with the RDSS but still had the same problem. Never the less I will do it again but this time directly. I wonder did you try downloading with the RDSS program? I say this because perhaps as to this particular file there is a problem?
Thanks, Robert |

Robert,
I too converted and opened that card suvccessfully in both RDSS and Spec, so the initial RDSS download of that file was bad. When you tried re-downloding it a second time with RDSS, it had no effect - RDSS just skipped over re-downloading it because it found the (apparently bad) file already existing in the c:\rdss\Data\Past Performances\TrackMaster\2007\DMR\ folder. The thing to do next time this happens, is go to the file archive location (as just described) and delete the file. Then do the RDSS download routine again. This time, finding no file (because you deleted it), it will download it again, and it will probably be good. I am working on a replacement for the whole downloading/converting/card assembly systems and from your and others' reports, I can do a number of tests for integrity of the downloaded data before letting it just crash. Sorry it happened, but glad you're back in business! Hopefully some good races on that card... Ted P.S. Bill's right - you can redownload the same card any number of times on the same date for no extra charge. The same will also apply to the new RDSS specific PP cards and Result Charts. |
