Noticed this crazy trend using RDSS

Well,

I have getting my a@@ handed to me using the matchup and RDSS, the strange thing I noticed was over 70% of the time what I'm assuming is the RDSS program selection was beating me. Let me explain

After making your paceline selection if you go to the analysis tab, and look under the pgm # you will see three numbers one in red, green, and yellow. Am I correct in assuming that these are the program selections?

Well the second race at Hollywood today RDSS had the 6/10/4 in red/green/yellow. So I load up on the 6, and just like clock work the 6 flys by the field and pays $11.00.

My question is are the R/G/Y pgm #'s the actual program selections and if so how does RDSS choose them. This is quite interesting!!!!!

Ahhh,

Just figured it out, those indicators designate the top 3 in class rating, either way the class of the field has been causing me much misery as of late. I had assumed BL/BL horses where the top program selections and I'm sure thats still the case, its just strange how certain trends develop.

Carl,

You got it! For the record, here are some earlier RDSS release notes re the APV and Class ratings currently showing in RDSS, along with a reference to Follow Up articles supplying the current fomulae (see Point #3 in the Changes section):

www.ArtofPace.com/pubs/RDSSUpdateNotes0.97.0.pdf

I believe that the APV/CR figs are not the strongest standalone ratings in the Methodology but can be useful in suggesting horses to focus on. For example, currently I tend to start with the 3 'colour' horses when reviewing a race, then move on to the rest.

I think BL/BL and V/DC are the critical composite adjusted ratings, but if you want ALL the horses who will finish in the top 4, consult E/L and the MU-CBL along with the Top 3 APV/CR. A good, short-term model also helps.

Ted

(P.S. not related to this thread, but the above release notes also describe the differences between Val mode and Spec mode.)
